George Part Deux

Coffee in George on the last day

George beach, victor at tag rugby tournament

Second week was spent for me travelling to Cape Town. An anthropologist would have stayed longer to taste district 6 and the Zeiz museum. Time only allowed for table mountain, Robben island where Mandela was held prisoner for 18 of 27 years and a day trip to the Cape of Good hope. I’m a shipwreck enthusiast so enjoyed the a stories of Turner and Dias, the later making his way to India on the spice route.

Picture 4 shows lions on the game reserve. At one point I was near mauled by a cheetah while taking a call of nature while the advanced party had experienced a wheel stoppage. Luckily 20 meters and an awareness kept me alive.
